Lockwood Ranch Driving Directions From the North Take Hwy 101 south to Jolon Road - Fort Hunter Liggett" (Lockwood Exit) which is Hwy G14. This exit is just before the highway veers east over the Salinas River toward King City. Turn Right and exit going south on Jolon Road straight past the Chevron station and vineyards. Go through the foothills, over the pass and down past some buildings and south through an oak savanna. About 20 minutes from Hwy 101 you will pass the entrance to Fort Hunter Liggett and Mission San Antonio (on your right), as the roadway gently turns to the left, heading east. A few minutes later you will see FHLs tank range" on your right, and then some buildings on your left, then a newly planted vineyard, and a sign saying Lockwood 4H Welcomes You". (If you see the Lockwood Store on your left, you have gone too far! Turn back!) Head north on Cross Road. About a mile and a half, to Lockwood-Jolon Road, and Turn Right (your landmark will be a large beige/white metal building on your right, at the corner). Head east a mile to Martinez Road. And Turn Right, (heading south along Martinez Road, a narrow, but paved country road). Once on Martinez Road, go to the end of the paved" section of road, (exactly one-half a mile), Turn Right at 49260 Martinez Road. You will see a black and white address sign with a right turn arrow on the power pole. Head west on this dirt road, which is the easement road/"driveway" to the property. At its end, (a quarter mile), turn Left and you will be facing a white-painted Powder River Gated pipe-fenced entry. Go straight uphill, then uphill to right, then left. You will see my trailer and ranch office out on the point to the south. Lockwood Ranch Driving Directions From the South Take Hwy 101 north to Jolon Road - Fort Hunter Liggett" (Lockwood Exit) which is Hwy G18. This exit is about a fifteen-minute drive north of Paso Robles, (ten minutes north of San Miguel) and is just past the town of Bradley. Keep your eyes open! Speed limit is 70MPH on Hwy 101 and it is easy to miss! Exit off Hwy 101 going under the highway overpass, heading northwest on Jolon Road. Proceed along Jolon Road through the vineyards and then the foothills, past the north shore entrance to Lake San Antonio, past the Pleyto Store, and in a few more miles and you will come into Lockwood Valley. (Speed limit on Jolon Road is 55 MPH and is strictly enforced in this area!) About fifteen minutes (15 miles) from Hwy 101 you will pass the Lockwood Post Office on your right (newer, white modular building). A mile later you will go through the intersection of Interlake Road and Jolon Road, and see the beige cinder block Lockwood Store on the corner on your right. A pay phone is there, and you can call me, or the owner of the store (Jim) can give you directions. Continue on along Jolon Road, approximately two more miles heading west, a few minutes. Look for the Cross Road" sign on your right, and Turn Right. (This intersection is approximately twenty (20) minutes from the exit at Hwy 101). (If you see the tank range on your left, you have gone too far! Turn back!) Head north on Cross Road.
